Whew… it’s been a hell of a conference. This has been the best one by far. I’ve not been to a bad panel or session yet. I’ve skipped a couple of panel times but that was because I was interacting with people in the halls one on one or in little clusters. Ideas going back and forth, recommendations made for this book or that book, introductions made, etc.
Thomas Van der Wal remarked that so much is to be learned outside of the sessions, and he’s right. The human interaction can’t be discounted. You have to walk up to people and say hi. Start talking to them.
There was a viral concept that took place outside the digital realm. It was spread through human interaction alone. The smiley stickers. David Nunez’s great idea to hand out smiley stickers to people as a way of saying hi and getting out from behind our laptops, ipods and other digital devices that can sometimes isolate us from the person just three feet away.
Much more to come later. I have one more session to attend and then some social interaction afterwards at the AIR Interactive awards party and the closing party afterwards. I will probably start cleaning up my notes over dinner. There’s several reminders I made that I need to make more clear and list out in a more organized fashion.
The ideas flow like water here.
