Update2: I found a problem with the July 2006 figures. I had the calculations for that month figuring the June 2006 values. Problem corrected. The August 2006 crime stats have been released by the City of Houston, so I figured in those to the equation. The table has been updated.

Whee! I just got registered for An Event Apart Austin. Eric Meyer, Jason Santa Maria, Molly Holzschlag and Jeffrey Zeldman. Glenda, did you get your ticket yet? I think the Austin contigent of web geeks needs to host a barbecue or something. Hell, any excuse for margaritas and fajitas is good with me.

Former Texas Governor Ann Richards died tonight.
AUSTIN, Texas - Former Gov. Ann Richards, the witty and flamboyant Democrat who went from homemaker to national political celebrity, died Wednesday night after a battle with cancer, a family spokeswoman said. She was 73.
